The Indian Society of Otology is a professional organization comprising of ENT surgeons with special interest in the field of Otology, Otoneurology, Implantation Otology and Allied Specialties.With over 1600 members spread over the length and breadth of the country, the Indian Society of Otology is probably one of the largest organizations of ENT Surgeons.

The Indian Society of Otology came into existence in Madras in September 1991 where a group of leading like minded ENT Surgeons with a special interest in Otology joined together to form the Indian Society of Otology. The Indian Society of Otology was registered and head quartered in Madras. The launching of the Indian Society of Otology as a National organization for Otologists in India has seen resounding and enthusiastic participation in 25 National Conferences have been conducted since 1992 till 2016 in various parts of the country.

The Indian Society of Otology intends to encourage and disseminate knowledge, education and research in the field of Otology and Allied Sciences.The Indian Society of Otology also pilots and promotes preventive and therapeutic services in the field of deafness and hearing health and also advocates to support and protect the interests of Otologists all over India. The Indian Society of Otology offers various international and national travel fellowships aiming to improve the training of young Otologists.

The Indian Society of Otology continues to hold its annual National Conference of the Indian Society of Otology in November every year for 3 days. Besides this annual conference many academic activities go on throughout the year to achieve all the above goals.
